House of BIZZards
Apply to the table
Before you start, it's worth explaining what this is and why we're asking all of it.
We started House of Bizzards because we'd rather build our own thing than work inside someone else's, and we wanted a small group of people doing the same — people who'd actually tell each other the truth. So none of this is a test. We're not looking for the most impressive person in the room. We're trying to work out whether you're one of those people, and whether we'd be any use to each other.
That's why we ask why you chose things rather than just what you did, what didn't go the way you hoped rather than only what worked, and what an ordinary Tuesday looks like rather than where you see yourself in five years.
A few things, plainly
- Taking a job or joining a family business are both completely reasonable choices. We've each thought seriously about them. Saying you have too is a good answer, not a bad one.
- Write it how you'd say it. Spelling, grammar and how polished it sounds count for nothing here — a rough answer with real thinking in it beats a tidy one without. If English isn't your first language, that costs you nothing.
- You can answer out loud instead of typing on most phones and browsers. There's a button under each box.
- Four questions, about ten minutes. Your answers save as you go, so you can stop halfway and come back to this link later on the same phone.
- When you submit, we send you our own answers to these same questions. It felt unfair to ask all this and tell you nothing back. We wrote ours before reading yours, and we disagree with each other on a fair bit of it.
Both of us read every application, all the way through.
